About

New York Healthcare Cyber Alliance

Cyberattacks against the healthcare sector continue to increase dramatically. Health records contain a wealth of information—including personal data, health history, and financial information—that are attractive targets for malicious actors. While advancements in recent years have improved the sector’s cyber posture, much more still must be done toward understanding and implementing cybersecurity best practices.

This is where the New York Healthcare Cyber Alliance (NYHCA) intends to make a positive impact. NYHCA is focused on assisting small-medium-sized healthcare organizations address cybersecurity, fostering information sharing among its members and communities of interest to mitigate cybersecurity risks while building trust in preparing for and responding to cyber events.

The group offers educational sessions, provides access to resources and serves as a clearinghouse to help healthcare entities–including nursing homes, home health providers, alternative care facilities and others–improve their cyber preparedness.

NYHCA is intended to bring together and supplement existing resources, identifying communities of affiliation based on key stakeholders’ direction and guidance.

NYHCA Participating Organizations Include the Following:

Bond, Schoeneck & King

CyberWA, Inc.

Healthcare Association of New York State

Manhattan District Attorney’s Office- CCSI
